Kristen grew up outside of Denver, Colorado. After high school Kristen took a cashier job at REI and became friends with several accomplished athletes. She then became the unofficial team support for their 24-hour bike races which mostly involved midnight pasta dinners and massage. She finally decided to go to massage school in 1999. She relocated to attend Mountain Heart School of Bodywork in Crested Butte, Colorado and completed the 850-hour program in November of 2000.
After a couple of years of getting her feet wet in the Crested Butte hotel & spa scene Kristen founded her own practice. In 2004 she moved to Costa Rica and returned 2 years later ready to attend college. She was offered a massage position working for a Chiropractor in Denver and began working on her college degree. She majored in Spanish and eventually made it back to the Gunnison valley and received her Teaching Licensure in Spanish through Western State College in 2010.
After two years of teaching middle and high school Spanish at the Community School Kristen decided to dedicate herself fully to her massage practice. She enjoys integrating different techniques such as deep tissue, Swedish, and Neuromuscular Therapy into her practice to provide her clients with a well-rounded and effective massage.
She began working for Heights Performance a few months ago and is fully enjoying the clinical side of massage therapy. She also plans on completing her certification as a Medical Massage Practitioner in July.
