Stacy Rae, L.Ac. – Acupuncturist

Stacey Rae L.Ac. AcupuncturistStacy grew up in Aspen, CO where she had the great fortune to be involved in many of the amazing outdoor pursuits available to the area. Skiing, camping, climbing, hunting and rafting have been her main interests, but her true passion was in classical ballet. After graduating from North Carolina School of the Arts, a performing arts high school, she danced professionally for three years before deciding to focus on college.

Stacy attended the University of Colorado (CU) in Boulder and earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology. While there, she had the unique opportunity to work with the CU Sports Medicine team and was a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer from

After some years working as a trainer and in physical therapy clinics, Stacy chose to pursue a graduate degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine . She received my Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine in 2002 from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, CO. She has worked as a Colorado licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) at the Main Street Clinic in Gunnison since 2004.

She believes in the art and science of acupuncture as a method of treatment that utilizes the body’s natural vital energy (Qi) inherent within all living things. The utilization of specific points along pathways called meridians, stimulates and balances the body’s energy. Sterile, stainless steel, disposable needles are inserted into these points to create a balance and free flow of energy.

Stacy has found that acupuncture can be of particular benefit in the Sports Medicine arena. Pain control, increased circulation, reduction of inflammation and scar tissue are all important areas to address while treating musculoskeletal injuries.
Stacy’s practice focuses on treating the whole -person, physically, mentally and energetically to create a comprehensive healing experience. Shes take great joy in sharing this relationship with each client and encourages each individual to take responsibility in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and progressive healing process.
Stacy has three beautiful children. She feels blessed to be able to share with them the recreational activities so abundant in the Gunnison Valley; skiing, hiking, camping, biking and hunting are her family’s outdoor passions.
It is her goal to help provide clients at Heights Performance with the environment for optimal well-being, personal growth and empowerment.
